Activities and Excursions
As the pool gets the sun all day, some of our guests are happy to spend their holiday just floating on the pool but the area offers many distractions for those who want to be more active or explore.
There are many sign-posted walks (guide books available) amongst the hills and white limestone cliffs around St Antonin and along the river Aveyron.
Take a canoe trip down the river; great fun (and safe) for people of all ages and not to be missed.
Cycling is popular all over France and here is no exception. Bicycles are available to hire in St Antonin but if the steep inclines feel too much try an electric bike for a more relaxed but equally fun adventure.
There are two superb new tennis courts in St Antonin, horse riding on offer nearby, with rock climbing and via ferrata in the surrounding area.
Les Bouleaux is an ideal base from which to explore the ancient bastide villages, many of them French historic sites, Najac, Cordes-sur-Ciel and Bruniquel to name a few.
The vineyards of Gaillac, Fronton and Cahors offer tastings in many of their wineries and the local markets, a chance to sample the regional delicacies and fresh produce.
The larger towns of Albi, Cahors, Montauban and Villefranche de Rouergue are good destinations for a day out.
There is a comprehensive collection of information leaflets and guides in the gite. We are always happy to make recommendations should you wish.
